MALAYSIA | Gunung Datuk

Let’s drink and be merry, tomorrow we trek!

This the exact phrase an actor in the Everest movie had said. And it is exactly what we did. We were watching the Everest movie with a few bottles of beer on the table while waiting for our ride to Malacca. A friend of mine had hired a van to take us to the jump-off point of our climb. It was a grueling 4 hours of sitting and a lot of sleeping attempts, but to no success. I don’t know if it is because I’m sitting in a van or I’m just too excited.

PULAU UBIN | Singapore’s Off the Beaten Path

Singapore Merlion

Singapore is known as one of the best places to travel with family, and just this year, Lonely Planet has ranked Singapore as the world’s number one country to travel to next year. Why not? Singapore is like traveling the world without leaving the island. When I move here, I was thinking of Singapore only as a major shopping destination for shopaholics. A stopover for travelers to explore its neighboring countries—Thailand, Vietnam, Indonesia, and the list goes on. It never crossed my mind that Singapore has a lot to offer for adventure seeker who is in constant search for that off the beaten path. All you need to do is explore.

Stoked at Wave House Sentosa

I’m back! And I’m loaded with lots of exciting adventures to share. I don’t know if there’s anyone out there who misses me while I’m away. (wink!) I’m so sorry for leaving you hanging these past few months. You see, I have moved into a new city and got a new job. And this job I have right now demands a tremendous amount of energy. Even if I always want to update this blog, my body just doesn’t want to cooperate. At the end of the day, the only thing I want to do is just retire to my bed and catch more sleep. Except of course if there’s a chance, I’ll surely go on a new adventure. That’s a different story. 😀

Don’t worry though. I’ll try my very best to share all those adventures I had for the past few months. Let’s start off with this adventure at Wave House Sentosa. I just learned recently that Singapore isn’t that short of activities for thrill seekers. One I highly recommend for you to try whenever you find yourself here in Singapore is the Flow Rider/Flow Barrel at Wave House Sentosa. If you’re seeking the adrenaline rush of a lifetime, try this activity. By far, this is the most adrenaline-pumping activity I ever had since I came here in Singapore.

Sabang, Palawan | Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour

Mangrove Paddle boat tour in Sabang, PalawanSabang is known as the entry point for the Underground River Tour. When we went to Palawan, we weren’t able to book for the underground river tour. Since Sabang is part of our itinerary, we decided to push through with our plan. We love to explore new places, and I think Sabang is still worth our visit. I wasn’t wrong about this. People might not know this, but there are a lot of things you can do in this small town besides going on an Underground River Tour. One of these is the Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour.

Nacpan Beach | Twin Beach | Nagkalit-Kalit Waterfalls

Twin beach in Nacpan, El NidoWe initially agreed to take the Tour C for our second day in El Nido, but since my cousin doesn’t want to do any island hopping, we take the Inland tour instead. We traveled 25km up north from El Nido town riding a tricycle. It was a long and bumpy road to Nacpan beach. But everything was all worth it.

Adventure Journal | Lanuza Surf Trip [Part 2]

Day 3

Cantilan is another great alternative spot for surfing. It’s a 30-minute ride from Lanuza. So far, Cantilan has the finest brown sand I have ever been to. And the view from the shore is magnificent. It gives you the feeling your in El Nido. Well, I have never been to El Nido but from the pictures I saw, it feels like it.
